Produced by Damián Sequeira, Diego El Cigala’s show blends flamenco with Latin rhythms such as Cuban son and salsa.This tour takes him to cities across the region, offering an “intimate and passionate” journey that celebrates the essence of the genre and the sounds of Latin America. The performance traces a musical path through his greatest hits and songs by other artists which, through his distinctive style, have become audience favorites.Accompanied by his highly talented band, El Cigala performs a repertoire marked by expressive intensity and musical richness. PORTAL SERENA two Days to Connect Through Music

This “terrifying comedy”—as described by its author—introduces us to two women, the Fandiño sisters: Maruxa and Coralia.Set in post–Spanish Civil War Galicia, in an attempt to avoid imprisonment, the sisters pretend to be mad. Every day at exactly two o’clock, to the sound of the bells of La Berenguela (from the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela), they stroll through the town square, wearing heavy makeup and striking, almost ridiculous outfits, in a kind of daily theatrical performance.Today, statues commemorating them can be found in Alameda Park in Santiago de Compostela, with the distinctive feature that the color and style of their clothing constantly change, as they are repainted again and again—just as the sisters themselves did. These seamstresses, living in poverty, continually reinvented themselves, resisting hunger and persecution through creativity and imagination.The author makes it clear that this is not intended as a biography and that the characters are entirely fictional. ARCA at MACA

The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Atchugarry (MACA) is honored to present Lucio Fontana: Genius of Two Worlds, the first exhibition dedicated to the artist in Uruguay. This exhibition represents a major cultural milestone for the country and offers a unique opportunity to explore the universe of a creator who transformed the history of modern and contemporary art.Lucio Fontana (1899–1968), born in Rosario, Argentina, and educated between Argentina and Italy, was an artist who transcended borders and disciplines. His work introduced a new conception of space in art, challenging the traditional limits of sculpture and painting and driving a profound transformation in 20th-century artistic practices.Curated by Fontana specialist Luca Massimo Barbero, the exhibition brings together 72 works, including ceramics, sculptures, drawings, and canvases, tracing the different stages of the artist’s career—from his early sculptural and ceramic works to the celebrated Concetti spaziali, where matter, light, and void merge into a radically new visual language.The exhibition journey allows visitors to explore his formative years in Rosario and at the Brera Academy in Milan; his experiments with ceramics and plaster during the 1930s; and his decisive return to Argentina in 1940, when the foundations of Spatialism emerged. With the White Manifesto, Fontana articulated the notion of “real space,” integrating art, science, and technology while anticipating conceptual and performative art.His iconic tagli—the slashes in the canvas—condense his artistic philosophy: a gesture opening toward infinity and a poetic reflection on matter, light, and void.Through this exhibition, MACA reaffirms its commitment to the dissemination of modern and contemporary art and its mission to build bridges between Latin America and Europe. The exhibition invites the public to rediscover a creator whose vision continues to expand the boundaries of contemporary art.The exhibition is accompanied by an illustrated catalogue, co-published by MACA and Allemandi Editore, featuring texts by Luca Massimo Barbero and previously unpublished graphic material, made possible thanks to the generous support of the Fondazione Lucio Fontana.&nbsp; In the Words of Curator Luca Massimo BarberoThis exhibition, marking Lucio Fontana’s return to the Americas, Genius of Two Worlds, is a round-trip journey across the Atlantic. Internationally renowned for the tagli (Slashes) of the Attese (Expectations), this exceptional occasion also looks back to what came before: his formative years in his father’s workshop in Rosario and at the Brera Academy in Milan; the radical and turbulent 1930s, marked by plasters, drawings, and early kiln experiments, where ceramics immediately became a laboratory for extraordinary, telluric, and iridescent sculptures. This thread reappears throughout his entire career, alongside canvases and metals, as a rigorous and continuous practice.His return to Argentina in 1940 opens a decisive chapter. In Buenos Aires, the concept of “real space” becomes method: alongside studies for the National Flag Monument and the remarkable San Juan, he develops the White Manifesto, which soon afterward, in Milan, gives rise to Spatialism. From this moment emerge the environments, where space becomes matter, like terracotta, and void takes on tangible form.With Spatialism, the painting definitively leaves the frame and sculpture abandons the pedestal: the artwork is no longer an object, but an event and a state to be experienced. From this intuition emerges a complex and articulated lexicon, in which matter is first challenged through the buchi (holes)—“I make a hole, through it infinity passes, light passes…,” Fontana wrote—and later through the rigorous discipline of the tagli (slashes), which carry this poetic vision toward a strict and controlled dimension. “The slashes,” the artist noted, “are above all a philosophical statement, an act of faith in infinity, an affirmation of spirituality.”This exhibition, which once again unites Italy and South America, revolves around two decisive aspects: training and method. Lucio Fontana: Genius of Two Worlds

Cuerpo Adentro is a new immersive proposal by El Sueño de los Elefantes.Designed to take place in a darkened room, this experience combines the power of live musical performance with the possibilities offered by quadraphonic sound design.On this journey, a guiding voice leads us through imagined landscapes, connecting the outer world with the inner one. MACA — Fundación Pablo Atchugarry presents Reason and Existence: Concrete Art and Informalism in Uruguay (1947–1970), an exhibition conceived especially for the Foundation’s spaces that offers a new perspective on a key chapter in modern Uruguayan art.The exhibition brings together a previously unseen selection of works by 26 Uruguayan artists from three generations and places in dialogue two seemingly opposing ways of understanding abstraction: on the one hand, an art of reason, linked to Concrete Art, associated with impersonal visuality, industrial technique, and constructive order; on the other, an art of existence, connected to Informalism, in which the surface of the canvas becomes a territory of radical freedom, materiality, gesture, and subjective expression.Set within the context of the postwar period and the crisis of the so-called “classical Uruguay,” the exhibition explores how, in the local context, abstraction shifted from embracing faith in reason, industry, and progress toward an existential sensibility shaped by the expansion of consumer society, political and cultural transformations, and growing unease with contemporary reality.From rigorous geometric compositions to dense surfaces charged with matter and texture, Reason and Existence demonstrates that in Uruguay, Concrete Art and Informalism were not mere reflections of European models. Reason and Existence — Concrete Art and Informalism in Uruguay (1947–1970)

Gala Night | A Dance Journey is a captivating and original performance that blends the elegance of classical and contemporary ballet with the energy of urban dance, tango, and circus arts. Dancers and musicians on stage showcase their talent with passion and intensity.The work is a synthesis of the different stages of the career of its creator and director, Rosina Gil, former Principal Dancer of the SODRE Ballet. With the support of Julio Bocca, she brings together her diverse professional experiences in a production designed to enchant audiences of all backgrounds.Presented for the first time in José Ignacio at the Pavilion Vik, the performance features Ciro Tamayo, Principal Dancer of the National Ballet of SODRE (BNS), as well as a striking Cyr Wheel act performed by Mateo Vega, completing a truly unique multidisciplinary experience.&nbsp; About Rosina GilAn internationally acclaimed artist and former Principal Dancer of the BNS, Rosina Gil has performed with companies such as Deborah Colker and the renowned Cirque du Soleil. In 2010, Maestro Julio Bocca brought her back to Uruguay to take on leading roles at the National Ballet of SODRE. Recently retired from the BNS, she received the Bartolomé Hidalgo Award for her book After Ballet. This production represents the culmination of her professional journey, combining ballet, contemporary dance, and circus arts.&nbsp; About Ciro TamayoSpanish dancer Ciro Tamayo has been Principal Dancer of the BNS since 2014. He trained at the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Mariemma and The Royal Ballet School, joining the BNS in 2011 under the artistic direction of Julio Bocca. He has appeared as a guest dancer with the English National Ballet and the National Ballet of Cuba, performing a wide-ranging repertoire by internationally renowned choreographers. Recently, he has expanded his career into acting, singing, and acrobatics, and served as a jury member at the prestigious Danzamérica International Dance Competition.
