Natalia Lafourcade - Cancionera tour

Produced by Damián Sequeira, Diego El Cigala’s show blends flamenco with Latin rhythms such as Cuban son and salsa.This tour takes him to cities across the region, offering an “intimate and passionate” journey that celebrates the essence of the genre and the sounds of Latin America. The performance traces a musical path through his greatest hits and songs by other artists which, through his distinctive style, have become audience favorites.Accompanied by his highly talented band, El Cigala performs a repertoire marked by expressive intensity and musical richness. Studio Ghibli Sinfónico – A Magical Symphonic Journey

On Sunday, March 15, 2026, La Barra de Punta del Este once again becomes the epicenter of Uruguay’s artisanal food culture with the 3rd annual Festival Pan y Queso at Narbona. This free-entry gastronomic celebration brings together more than 35 artisans from across the country, offering over 350 tastings of handcrafted breads and cheeses alongside insights into traditional production techniques and the stories behind these beloved culinary staples. The event has grown rapidly since its debut — after attracting around 4,000 visitors in its first year and 5,000 in its second, this edition aims to surpass 6,000 attendees, solidifying its place as one of Uruguay’s most vibrant and popular food festivals. &nbsp;Beyond sampling exceptional local flavors, visitors can explore a wide range of experiences for all ages. The festival will feature workshops on bread and cheese making for children and adults, talks and success stories from producers and entrepreneurs, and live music throughout the day. Expanded tastings will include specialty coffee, artisanal gelato, charcuterie, craft beers, and fine wines, creating a full sensory experience that highlights Uruguay’s gastronomic identity. Experience Uruguay’s Rich Culinary Heritage at the Festival Pan y Queso 2026

The Afro Latin Festival of José Ignacio is set to light up Las Musas on March 13 and 14, 2026, with a vibrant program that celebrates the rich diversity of Afro-Latin musical traditions. It brings together internationally acclaimed talents alongside beloved local faces in an unforgettable two-night experience rooted in rhythm, culture and community. &nbsp;At the heart of this bold inaugural edition is Yosvany Terry, an internationally recognized saxophonist, composer and educator who serves as Senior Lecturer on Music at Harvard University and whose work bridges jazz, Afro-Caribbean beats and deep cultural expression. Terry will perform with The Afro-Caribbean Quintet, bringing his distinctive sound to José Ignacio and also leading educational sessions for musicians, students and teachers. &nbsp;Joining him is a familiar face for local audiences: Claudio Martínez, the Uruguayan percussionist and composer known for his infectious energy and commitment to Afro-Uruguayan rhythms. Many in our community will remember him from events around José Ignacio, including his appearance at the opening of Boulevard de Las Palmeras. An International Women’s Day exhibition at Casa AnamThis March 8, Casa Anam in Manantiales opens its doors to Mujeres, Cuerpos, Voces y Territorio, a group exhibition curated by Mariela Soldano and organized by Puertas Adentro – casa de artista &nbsp;￼.Bringing together six artists from Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, and Venezuela, the exhibition explores themes of identity, memory, belonging, and territory through painting, sculpture, and photography. The works invite viewers of all ages to reflect on what it means to inhabit a body, a place, and a shared cultural landscape.For families, this is a meaningful opportunity to engage in conversation around International Women’s Day through contemporary artistic practice. ¡Qué Brisa, la risa! is a tender and imaginative dance performance created especially for early childhood. Designed for babies and young children from 6 months onward, this piece offers a first encounter with the performing arts through movement, rhythm, and sensory discovery.At the heart of the story is Bichita — not a duck, not a frog, not a bird, not an elephant… simply Bichita. Curious, joyful, and always eager to see, hear, and feel everything the world offers, she begins her day playing and dancing, wanting to share her happiness. Through her presence, the performer gently guides little ones in discovering their own place within the unfolding landscape of the stage.The experience unfolds in a warm, carefully crafted atmosphere that invites children and caregivers to feel comfortable, close to the action, and fully immersed. ¡Qué Brisa, la risa! — Dance-Theater for Early Childhood

There are stories that compel us to look toward the horizon with new awareness. Agua Invadida is one of them. This Uruguayan documentary immerses viewers in the South Atlantic to expose a reality that is both close to home and largely unseen: illegal fishing in our waters and its profound impact on marine life, coastal communities, and national food sovereignty.Directed by National Geographic explorer Carolina Sosa, the film combines scientific rigor, institutional access, and a sensitive narrative approach that follows experts, local fishermen, and authorities in their search for answers. From maritime patrol missions to real sessions in the Uruguayan Parliament, the camera does more than document — it questions, investigates, and challenges. Agua Invadida: A Call from the South Atlantic

MACA (Atchugarry Museum of Contemporary Art) presents Three Paths, One Horizon, an exhibition bringing together works by Julian Lennon, Eva Claessens and Pablo Atchugarry. The show includes photography, painting and sculpture, and proposes a journey through the artists’ most recent bodies of work.The three artworks featured on the invitation are visually connected; each image is a detail drawn from a piece included in the exhibition. The title —and the dialogue between the artworks— conveys a message that is positive, profound, and light. It feels especially meaningful in today’s world, where genuine connection is becoming increasingly rare.The selected works include photographic landscapes of Uruguay shot by Julian Lennon, paintings and sculptures by Eva Claessens focused on the human figure, connection and the relationship between the self and its surroundings, and sculptures by Pablo Atchugarry in multiple materials. Presented together in one room, the pieces offer a panorama of three contemporary artistic approaches shaped in different contexts and trajectories.About the protagonistsJulian Lennon (Liverpool, 1963) is a multidisciplinary artist whose field of work &nbsp;includes photography, music, documentary cinema and philanthropy. His &nbsp;incursion into photography saw a formal beginning in 2010 with the Timeless exhibition in New York, followed by showcases across the United States, &nbsp;Europe, Asia and the Middle East. His collection explores the relationship &nbsp;between nature, light and life, with a contemplative and humanist focus. His &nbsp;book, Life’s Fragile Moments (2024), established his photographic production &nbsp;with more than 200 images taken over the past 17 years.&nbsp;In 2007, he founded The White Feather Foundation, an organization dedicated &nbsp;to education, health, environmental conservation, clean water access, and the &nbsp;protection of Indigenous cultures. He has been recognized by UNESCO as a &nbsp;Peace Laureate (2020). &nbsp;Eva Claessens (Antwerp, 1971) is a visual artist whose practice includes painting, sculpture, ceramics, and graphic work. Educated at the Scuola delle Belle Arti in Perugia, she has developed a distinctive artistic language centered on connection and the relationship between the self and its surroundings, often expressed through the human figure. Her work captures fleeting emotions—moments suspended in time—where intimacy and presence take form.Claessens’ practice is marked by a pursuit of spontaneity, lightness, and the unfinished. Her works invite the viewer into a shared space of interpretation, leaving room for the gesture to be completed through perception and emotion.With a trajectory that includes exhibitions worldwide, Claessens begins each piece through observation of real-life models. She currently divides her time between Uruguay and different countries, maintaining an active and evolving practice across multiple mediums.Pablo Atchugarry (Montevideo, 1954) is a Uruguayan artist and philanthropist whose career began in the 1970s, with work deeply linked to matter, light, and movement. Throughout his career, he has explored various materials, although he is best known for his work with Carrara marble, which he has used to create sculptures ranging from intimate pieces to monumental works that can be found in public and private collections in Europe, America, and Asia.In 2002, he received the Michelangelo Prize in Carrara, and the following year, he represented Uruguay at the Venice Biennale. His work has been exhibited in more than 100 solo shows in museums and cultural spaces in different countries, consolidating a sustained presence on the international scene.In addition to his artistic production, Atchugarry has promoted projects that integrate creation, training, and social commitment. In 2007, he founded the Pablo Atchugarry Foundation, dedicated to the development and dissemination of contemporary art. Since 2014, he has been carrying out the Tierra Garzón project, where he combines art and environmental restoration through reforestation with native flora, reaching more than 17,000 native plants and trees planted.
